[Error: unknown template qotd]In general, vanilla with chocolate fudge swirls. I also have a thing for chocolate ice cream with Oreo cookies mixed in. I mixed that myself once... it turned out to be the best ice cream I'd ever eaten.

[Error: unknown template qotd]I am afraid of physical and psychological discomfort of any sort, whether it's caused by illness, long car rides, and being too hot or too cold when indoors. Seizures and colds are my mortal enemies.

I'm also scared of the house burning down and losing all of my treasured things as a result. My clothes... and stuffed animals, and artwork... it's terrible to think about!

To everyone who thinks that quiet people are secretly dangerous killers... keep this in mind while you're busy watching out for us shy, mousy types.

Real psychopaths are not creepy. They're friendly. Sociable. Charming. No one in a million years suspects them of being capable of heartless murders-- even after they've committed them. You, extrovert of a thousand words, would love them like hell.
THAT'S HOW THEY ATTRACT THEIR VICTIMS.

You'd be screwed.

It is said that the opposite of love is in fact fear. Love attracts, fear repels. Hatred is an aspect of fear. The person you hate repels you, makes you wish he was suffering or dead.

Now listen. All humans, with the exception of sociopaths, have an inherent empathy for each other (except when fear is involved). It's what makes us try to save someone from killing himself, and other things like that.

That said, what is indifference? Indifference is an active avoidance of that empathy. Avoidance. You don't "not care" at all. You just choose not to feel it.

Avoidance, too, is an aspect of the condition known as fear. Repellence. Do you see? It's not only the emotion of being afraid that carries the definition.

So about a week ago, I was looking up information on daddy issues and the effects of having an absent father. One of those effects that I happened to read at one point was, "it will make the girl grow up to be more independent."

That insulted me tremendously. Among all the dysfunctional traits that having a father can result in, someone decided to add, "Oh hai, they'll be independent too!" Like it's the only important thing that a child can accomplish.

An absent father is not a good thing. Not a fucking good thing in the least. The consequences can be catastrophic, depending on who you are, and I'll wager that your independence would have grown in whether you had both parents or not.

Who ever thought that having a father would stunt a child's maturity? If anything, I think having a good and loving father in my life would have helped my social and personal growth, as well as inner strength. Independence means nothing to me if I'm going to go about it with a hole in my heart and tears lying in wait behind my eyes.
